Mark Avery Pardue, age 53 of Elkin passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mark is the son of Avery and Dixie Blackburn Pardue of Elkin, born May 22, 1959. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Pardue Williams. In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters, Ava Pardue Hall and her husband Robert of Hamptonville and Becky Pardue Church and her husband Don of N. Wilkesboro; brother-in-law, Graham Williams of Union, SC; three nieces, Denise H. Eubanks and her husband Curtis of Union, SC, Caroline Williams of Greenville, SC, and Emily Church of N. Wilkesboro; nephew, Sean Williams of Union, SC; two great nieces, Riley Shropshire and Morgan Eubanks of Union, SC; and one great nephew, Mason Church of N. Wilkesboro. Mark was a 1977 graduate of East Wilkes High School and a retiree of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in Winston-Salem. He was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to encourage that donations be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017, in memory of our beloved son, brother, and uncle. The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, Dr. Eugene Paschold, and the Cool Springs Baptist Church family for their care.
