Traphill, Mr. James "Harold" Adams, 91, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Adams was born December 26, 1920 in Wilkes County to Ernest Adams and Zella Lyons Adams. Mr. Adams was owner and operator of Harold's nursery and a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corps. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Betty Jo Adams and a sister Peggy McDonald. Survivors include; his wife, Grace C. Adams of the home, a son, David Ray Adams and wife Linda of Traphill, a granddaughter, Angela Adams, and a sister Sylvia Wingler and husband Danny of N. Wilkesboro. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel at 4:00 pm with Rev. Jimmy Welborn and Rev. Robert Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Knobbs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 pm prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made to Heritage Healthcare of Elkin, 500 Johnson Ridge Road, Elkin, NC 28621. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Paul Gulley, the staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital ICU and the staff of Heritage Healthcare of Elkin for the care given to Mr. Adams during his illness.
