Daniel Heath Ford, age 68, of Ronda, died Saturday, May 26, 2012. He was born May 24, 1944 in Union County to Arnold Ford and Willie Hazel Clontz Ford. Heath was a graduate of Appalachian State University and was a retired vocational agriculture teacher with the Wilkes County School system. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: his wife, Donna Thompson of the home; daughter, Erica V. Golding and her husband Nicholas of Athens, GA., step-son, Nathanael Thompson of Jackson WY., step-daughter, Tamela Chakrobartty and her husband Noel of Durham; brothers, Rev. Craig Ford and his wife Janet, Clark Ford and his wife Loni, and Rev Gayle Ford and his wife Shelby; grandchildren, Caroline Golding and Knox Golding; and step-grandchildren, Douglas Chakrobartty and Daniel Chakrobartty. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. in Zion United Methodist Church in Monroe with Rev. Craig Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family requests that memorials be made to Heifer International, PO Box 6021 Albert Lea, MN 56007.
