Rubye Wanda Lankford

Mrs. Rubye Wanda Lankford passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe. She was born in Yadkin County to Jesse Beulin and Fannie Martin Beulin. Mrs. Lankford was retired from Lucia and was a member of Elkin Presbyterian Church. The joys in her life were her family, friends, and church. She took pleasure in cooking baking, sewing, walking, and reading. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman T. Lankford, Sr.; three brothers and six sisters. Survivors include: sons, Herman Lankford, Jr. and his wife Gail of Weaverville and Eddie Lankford of Huntersville; daughters, Peggy McGraw and her husband Dick of Matthews and Wanda Simmons and her husband Ron of Matthews; grandchildren, Erin Hall and her husband Josh and Garrett Simmons; great grandchildren, Charlotte Marie Hall, Liam Edward Hall , and Emory Claire Hall. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Gebhard officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The family requests that memorials be made to Elkin Presbyterian Church Youth Fund, 151 Hillcrest Drive, Elkin, NC 28621 or Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to thank Hospice of Union County for their care.
