Mr. Raymond David Combs, age 65 of N. Wilkesboro, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born August 31, 1947 in Surry County to Arlis Ray Combs and Dorothy Blevins Combs. Mr. Combs was a member of Middle Cross Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Mitchell Combs; brothers, Richard Combs and Rodger Combs; and sister, Reba Ashley. Survivors include: son, David Mark Combs of Wilkesboro; daughter, Natasha Lynn Abrams; brother, Rufus Combs and his wife Claudia of Ronda; sisters, Retha Woodie and her husband Ernest of Ronda, Ruby Jenkins of Dobson, and Bonnie Byrd and her husband Rodney of Roaring River; grandchildren, Brittany Combs, Whitney Combs, David Combs, Destinee Ashley, and Darian Abrams. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jerry Barker and Rev. David Wellborn officiating. Burial will follow in Ronda Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and ICU4 for their care.
