Elkin, Mr. Charles Jackson Burcham, age 72 of Elkin, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Heritage Healthcare of Elkin. Mr. Burcham was born January 23, 1940 in Yadkin County to Jack Lewis and Caldonia Hunter Burcham. Mr. Burcham retired from Sprint Telephone Company and was an active member of Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher. Charles enjoyed generously serving others and did so by assisting with meals on wheels and teaching Sunday school at Heritage Healthcare of Elkin. Charles was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include; his wife, Annette W. Burcham of the home; a daughter, Tamara Burcham Johnson and her husband Jeff of Elkin; brothers, Daryl Burcham and his wife Pat of Jonesville, Donald Burcham and his wife Linda of Yadkinville; a sister, Becky Hampton and her husband Grayson of Hamptonville, a step grandson, Joseph Johnson, a special aunt, Magdalene "Maggie" Hampton of Elkin; several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Kenny Gunn officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will accepted or memorials may be made to Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church, 258 W. Main Street, Jonesville, NC 28642 Thank you to everyone for all of the love, prayers, cards, calls and visits during the Charles' sickness.
