October 21, 1938 — April 1, 2012

Mrs. Betty Carol Williams, age 73 of Elkin, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Joan and Howard Woltz Home in Dobson. Mrs. Williams was born in Bushton, Kansas to Virgil F. Lawson and Hazel F. Brisbin Lawson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon J. Rupe; sisters, Violet Keye, Lavona Lucky, and Wanda Bryant; and a brother, Forest Lawson. Survivors include: daughters, Dana Dilks of Wichita, KS, Dawna Hill of Wichita, KS, Danise Comer of Elkin; brother, Bill Lawson of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Hannah Comer, Wesley Comer, Ava Comer, Anne Marie "Annie" Williams, Elizabeth Hicks, Stephanie Price, Matthew Price, Ian Price, and John Hicks, Jr. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, April 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dallas Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hsopice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to thank the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, the nursing staff of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and especially to Trish and her family.
