Mrs. Audrey Renegar Key, age 87 of Elkin, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born June 2, 1924 in Surry County to Ranson and Bessie Steele Renegar. She was retired from Chatham manufacturing and was a member of the church named after her mother, Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Sam Key; son, Bruce Key, and a brother, Reuben Renegar. Survivors include several nieces. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Ralph Groce officiating. Mrs. Key will lie in state at Elkin Funeral Service Saturday morning from 8:00-12:00 prior to the graveside service.
