Elkin, Mrs. Margaret Rose Webb, age 90, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Webb was born February 22, 1921 in Surry County to John Clinton and Pearl Tolbert Rose. Mrs. Webb was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkin for over sixty years. She was a former member of Elk Garden Club, Elkin Women's Club, Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Jefferson Webb and a son-in-law, Edward Roan Snyder III, sisters, Virginia Harbour, Dorothy Snow, brothers, Robert Rose, Edward Rose, John Rose Jr. and Cecil Rose. Survivors include: her daughter, Judy Webb Snyder of State Road, grandchildren, Dr. Jonathan Snyder and wife Courtney of Elkin, Matthew Snyder and wife Margaret of Charlotte, great grandsons, Webb Snyder of Elkin and Roan Snyder, sisters, Betty White and Nellie Ruth Golding both of Mt. Airy, brother, Stanley Rose and wife Phyllis, William Rose all of Mt. Airy. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Elkin with Rev. Rebecca Maynard and Rev. Don Durham officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center, Mountain Valley Hospice and all the sitters who provided loving care to Margaret during her final years.
