Mr. Gurney Thomas "Buck" Pardue, age 78 of Mooresville, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at Brian Center Health & Rehab in Mooresville. Mr. Pardue was born January 17, 1933 in Wilkes County to Arthur and Onie Stanfield Pardue. Mr. Pardue was a member of Little Elkin Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Cheek Pardue; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Jean Pardue Smith and Bobby C. Smith; three brothers, Weaver Pardue, Dwight "Wint" Pardue, Clyde Pardue; a sister, Minnie Lee Pardue. Survivors include: two sons, Steve Pardue and his wife Karen of Denver and Danny Pardue and his wife Kathy of Elkin; six grandchildren, Jerry Pardue, Tonya Luffman, Stephanie Williams, Kristen Troglin, Kim Tremain, Gary Smith; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Little Elkin Baptist Church with Rev. Gwyn Anderson, Rev. Roby Wilcox, and Rev. Wayne Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made to Little Elkin Baptist Church Building Fund, 1161 Little Elkin Church Road, Ronda, NC 28670.
