Hodges Funeral Home Elkin, NC Jonesville Georgina May Pruitt, age 83, of Moncus Road, passed away Saturday October 7, 2006 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Pruitt was born May 17, 1923 in Raleigh Co, WVA, to Rufus Gordon and Mary Angelina Wood Pruitt. Mrs. Pruitt was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a member of Jonesville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Pruitt was also a member of the Barbara Heck United Methodist Women's Club and the Fellowship Club at Chatham. She also volunteered at the Wilkes Deafness Center. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Glenn Pruitt. Survivors include: A son and daughter in law, David Pruitt and wife Gilda of Jonesville. Three daughters and sons in law, Carol Pruitt Golden and husband Keith, Effie Pruitt Chipman and husband Craig all of Elkin. Nancy Pruitt Prevette and husband Charles of Jonesville. Three Grandchildren, Sunnie Prevette, Derek Prevette, Carrie Prevette. Two Step Grandchildren, Roger Allen Cook and wife Melanie, Kim Myers and husband Jason. Four Step Great Grandchildren, Brianna Myers, Lydia Cook, James Cook, Weston Cook. Two brothers, Donald Pruitt of Port Townsend, WA, Jackie Pruitt of Vineland, NJ. Four sisters, Peggy Cox and husband John and Reva Smith all of West Virginia, Gay Lalli and June Clark all of Vineland, NJ. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday October 10, 2006 at 2 pm at Jonesville United Methodist Church by Rev. Jim Sanders, Rev. Bob Swaim, and Rev. Joe Fulp. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. Mrs. Pruitt will lie instate thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Monday from 7-9 pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
