State Road Mr. James Brandon Hamby, age 17, of Butchers Lane, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006. Brandon was born November 11, 1989 in Surry County to Jimmy & Barbara Cranford Hamby. Mr. Hamby attended Central Full Gospel Church and was preceded in death by his grandfather, J.T. Cranford. Survivors include: his father, Jimmy Hamby of Jonesville; his mother, Barbara Cranford Butcher and husband Johnny of State Road; sister, Melissa Hamby of Jonesville; a special maternal grandmother Mattie Brown Cranford; a maternal great grandmother Minnie Barker Brown both of State Road; step paternal grandmother, Clyde Moxley of Sparta; a special cousin Daniel Billings; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Full Gospel Church by Rev. Bobby Norman and Rev. Bill Jenkins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
