Levanch Stanley Sparks

Elkin, Mrs. Levanch Stanley Sparks, age 84, of Mitchell Ridge Rd., passed away Friday Aug. 22, 2008 at Elkin Health Care. Mrs. Sparks was born May 22, 1924 in Surry County, to Marvin Leo and Mirtie Dobbins Stanley. Mrs. Sparks was a member of Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church, and was retired from the Proctor-Silex co. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Leo , Roy, Artis, Oscar, Frank and Bobby Stanley. Survivors include: her husband Banner Vestal Sparks, of the home, one daughter Sandra Snow and husband Donald "Pete", of Elkin, one brother Charles Stanley and wife Shirley of Dobson, two sisters, May Key and her husband, Oliver Jr., and Lorene Danley , all of Ararat, three Grandchildren, Donna Coe, and husband Scotty , Donathan Snow and wife Christy, and Dustin Snow and wife Stacey, all of Dobson, four Great Grandchildren, Kayla Coe, Tiffany Coe, Austin Snow, and Meagan Johnson. Funeral services will be held Sunday August 24, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel , by Rev. Marty Reece, and Rev. Mark Freeman. Burial will follow in Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges funeral Home in Elkin.
