Elkin Mrs. Estelle Ila Brown, age 88 of Johnson Ridge Road pass away Saturday October 29, 2005 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Brown was born April 11, 1917 in Wilkes County to Ambrose J. and Eva Cockerham Barker. Mrs. Brown retired from St. Josephs Hospital and attended Austin Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband; Willie C. Brown, a daughter; Louise Brown, two brothers; Grant M Barker and Percy G. Barker; two sisters; Alberta Barker Jefferies and Maude B. Barker. Survivors include: a son Bill B. Brown and wife Jan of Lake Wales Fla., three brothers; Vance Barker of Winter Springs Fla, Clyde Barker and A.J. Barker Jr. both of Clemmons. There sisters; Nellie Barker Clark of Selma CA., Bessie Barker Stokes of Pineville, Ina Mae "Peggy"Wilkins of Clemmons and Mary Katherine Barker Bailey of Simpsonville SC. Two grandchildren; Sandra Paquette of Milford Mich. and Linda Gerkin of Howell Mich. Four great grandchildren; Andrew Gerkin, Adam Gerkin, Angie Gerkin, and Phillip Paquette. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday November 2, 2005 at 11:00am at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Wayman and Karen Ming. Burial will follow at Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Hodges Funeral Home. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Brown family.
