State Road Mr. James Herman Royal, age 56, of Adams Ridge Road, passed away Monday, January 24, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Royal was born March 18, 1948 in Surry County to Herman B. & Nonnie Luffman Royal. Mr. Royal was a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church and was employed by Cedarbrook Country Club. Survivors include: his wife, Rebekah Gentry Royal of the home; two sons, Darin Royal and Brian Royal both of Elkin; a daughter, Lorie Royal Swander of Charlotte; his parents, Herman & Nonnie Royal of State Road; brothers, Bobby Royal of Elkin, J.C. Royal of Hamptonville, Roby Royal of Thurmond, Ricky, Danny and Sammy Royal all of State Road; a sister, Loretta Royal of Elkin; five grandchildren, Teara and Jadia Royal both of Dobson, Molly and Tye Royal both of Elkin, Jade Reavis. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Ford Baptist Church by Rev. Claude Lloyd and Rev. Danny Royal. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
