Jonesville, Mr. Conley H "Cecil" Ireson, age 74, of Jonesville passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospitial. Mr. Ireson was born October 10, 1935 in Ashe County to Conley H. and Inez Caudill Ireson. Mr. Ireson was a graduate of Jonesville High School, Class of 1954, a veteran of the US Army Reserves, and retired from Sprint Telephone Company. He was a member of Jonesville First United Methodist Church and was well known for his gift of music. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by many adopted brothers and sisters. Survivors include: his wife Patricia Shoemaker Ireson of the home; one son Rev. Charles Ireson and his wife Rev. Sandra of Winston Salem; one daughter Dawn Ireson Poston and her husband John K. of Elkin; one brother John B. Ireson and his wife Carol of Lexington KY.; four grandchildren Clint Poston and Schuyler Poston both of Elkin, Brittany Ireson Clark of Kernersville, and Christopher Ireson of Boone; two great grandchildren Makenzie and Kaylee Clark; his cat Mad Max and several beloved cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Ireson will be conducted Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Jonesville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dale Swofford officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jonesville First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Jonesville First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall Fund.
