Elkin Mr. Jerry Lee Nance, age 57, of Joe Layne Mill Road, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Nance was born March 16, 1951 in Surry County to Vernel & Irene White Nance. Mr. Nance was retired from Wayne Farms and was a member of Welcome View Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Nance. Survivors include: a son, Terry Lee Nance of Elkin; two brothers, James Wendell Nance and wife Judy of State Road; Donnie Gray Nance of Elkin; two sisters, Judy Carol Gentry and husband David, Carolyn Johnson and husband Brian all of Elkin. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Welcome View Baptist Church by Rev. Marty Reece and Rev. Danny Henley. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Mr. Nance will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
