John David Greene

April 9, 1938 — April 27, 2004

Fayetteville, NC Mr. John David Greene, age 66, of Bryn Mawr Drive, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Greene was born April 9, 1938 in Edgefield County South Carolina to Paul Edward & Vera Adams Greene. John was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired General Manager of Holiday Inn Bordeaux. He was an accomplished artist and very active in Fayetteville arts community. He was a member of the Fayetteville Arts Council and Cape Fear Studio, where he regularly exhibited many of his paintings. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include: his wife, Sunsil Chang Greene of the home; a son, Johnathan Wayne Greene of Lenoir; two daughters, Holly Little and husband Lee of Hickory, Lari Sunsil Greene of Fayetteville; his mother, Vera Greene Matheson of Lenoir; three brothers, Danny Greene of High Point; Keathley Greene and wife Linda of Elkin; Julian Greene and wife Teresa of Lenoir; three sisters, Jeanette Brookshire and husband Bill; Winifred Setzer and husband Shober; Nancy Taylor and husband Sonny all of Lenoir; five grandchildren. Services will be private. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Greene family.
