Elkin Mr. Jimmy Jackson Whitaker, age 64, of Hawthorne Road, passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Whitaker was born January 9, 1944 to Jackson & Retha Whitaker. Mr. Whitaker was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother, Retha Whitaker of Yadkinville; a daughter, Melissa Flowers and husband Mark of Mt. Holly and her mother, Sharon K. Caulder of Charlotte; a brother, Robert Whitaker of Elkin; a sister, George Whitaker of Elkin; two grandchildren, Mark Flowers, Jr. of Mt. Holly, Jessica Hartley and husband Heath of Mt. Pleasant; one great grandchild, Cameron Alexander Hartley of Mt. Pleasant. Services for Mr. Whitaker are private.
