Hamptonville Mrs. Patricia Ann Mahan Cox, age 42, of Brown Road, passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Cox was born September 8, 1965 in Surry County to Homer & Jo Ann Absher Mahan. Mrs. Cox was a member of The Way of Life Church. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Annie Absher; paternal grandparents, Zala and Homer Mahan. Survivors include: her husband, Ted Cox of the home; a son, Timothy Wayne Cox of State Road; her mother and father, Homer and Jo Ann Absher Mahan of State Road; maternal grandfather, Johnny Absher of State Road; two brothers, Johnny Mahan and wife Kim of Roaring River, Junior Mahan and wife Dawn of Ronda; two nephews, Johnny Lee Mahan, David Paul Mahan; a niece, Katy Mahan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at The Way of Life Church in Hamptonville by Rev. Jimmy Mahan and Rev. Randy Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
