Alda Adkins Cox

Traphill Mrs. Alda Adkins Cox, age 65, of Traphill Union Road, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cox was born November 17, 1942 in Yadkin County to Claude McKinley & Grace Myers Adkins. Mrs. Cox was retired from Lucia and was a member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Ira Cox. Survivors include: two sons, Michael Greg Cox and wife Tammy of Roaring River, Christopher Carl Cox and special friend Linda Thompson of Elkin; a daughter, Sandra Kay Cox of Traphill; two brothers, Reggie Farrell Adkins, Jeff McKinley Adkins; three sisters, Carol Pardue, Shirley Caudill, Deborah Hutchins; five grandchildren, Cory Cox, Ryan Cox, Laken Cox, Sloane Cox and Ashley Cox. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Roaring Gap Baptist Church by Rev. Ronnie McMillian and Rev. Jeff Collins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
