Elkin Mr. Delmas Glenn Blevins, age 78, of Turkey Creek Lane, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Blevins was born October 13, 1926 in Louisburg to James Monroe & Elizabeth Brooks Blevins. Mr. Blevins was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Germany during WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Wilmoth; two brothers, Aldean Blevins and Bert Blevins. Survivors include: his wife: Ola Bostic Blevins of the home; three brothers, Blan Blevins and wife Bertie of Elkin, Oscar Blevins and wife Hazel of Benham, J.T. Blevins and wife Brenda of Mt. Airy; two sisters, Viola Norman of Thurmond, Thelma Poplin and husband Iven of Jonesville. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church by Rev. Wesley Smith and Rev. J.T. Blevins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Blevins will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church.
