Stella Jenkins

June 4, 1920 — March 11, 2005

Mrs. Stella Florence Mounce Jenkins, age 84 of Lyles Street, passed away Friday March 11, 2005 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Jenkins was born June 4, 1920 in Surry County to John William and Daisy Venable Mounce. Mrs. Jenkins retired from Baptist Retirement Home and was a member of Kernersville First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Velna Riggan, Ima Chappell, and Empress Melton. Two brothers, Herber Mounce, Ralph Mounce. Survivors include: her husband, Bob Jenkins, Sr. of the home. A son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Jenkins, Jr. and wife Ann of Elkin. A daughter and son-in-law, Elaine J. Craddock and husband Mark of Winston Salem. Two granddaughters, Hallie J. Strickland, Sarah Pinnix and husband Charlie. Four great grandchildren, Erin, Brandon, Brice, C.J. Two sisters, Hazel Mounce Cummings and husband Bob, Wilma Mounce Cockerham all of Elkin. Funeral services will be held Monday March 14, 2005 at 11am at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Mark Craddock. Burial will follow at Little Richmond Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friend from 10:30-11 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The American Heart Association. Online condolences may be made at www.hodgesfuneralhomeinc.com Mrs. Jenkins was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend. She loved her Lord and everyone she knew. She spent her life in service to them. We thank the Lord for sharing one of his most precious lambs with us and we know that heaven shines brighter because she is home. We look forward to the day when we will all be together again. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Jenkins Family.
