Ronda Mr. Keith Jerome Hege, age 52 of Hwy 268 Ronda, passed away Wedneday, March 19, 2008 at Carolina's Medical Center. Mr. Hege was born January 23, 1956 in Surry County to George & Kay Stanley Hege. Mr. Hege was retired from Center Point and was a member of Healing Waters First Assembly. Keith graduated from Surry Central High School, Surry Community College with an Associate of Science Degree, after that, he continued his education at Bowman Gray School of Medicine where he received his Physicians Assistant Degree. He enjoyed volunteering for Brunson Elementary School. He was a loving father, brother and son with a passion for the arts and loved playing his guitar. He was an outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and golf. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Mary Lee Stanley; a stepfather, J. Weldon Smith; his paternal grandparents, George E. Hege and Vera M. Stanley. Survivors include: a son, Nicholas Tyler Hege of Winston-Salem; three daughters, Angela Corns and husband Robert Terry of Pilot Mountain, Samantha Hege, Sydney Lauren Hege both of Winston-Salem; his father, George Hege and wife Delma of Ronda, his mother, Kay Stanley Smith of Lewisville; two brothers, George Barron "Barry" Hege and wife Laura of Dobson, Kevin Hege and wife Susan of Lewisville; two stepbrothers, Jimmy Smith and wife Patricia of Westfield, Daniel Hege and wife Debbie of Fla.; a sister, Scarlette Hege of Charlotte; four stepsisters, Phyllis Gregory and husband Rocky of Elkin; Patricia Pruitt of Clingman; Linda Luffman and husband Junior of State Road; Kim Robertson and husband Mike of Cookville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Robert Tyler Corns and Chaning Corns of Pilot Mtn.; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces & Nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Healing Waters First Assembly by Rev. George Hege and Rev. Jerry Ireland. Burial will follow at Double Creek Church of Christ. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Keith Hege memorial scholarship fund c/o SCC Foundation, 630 S. Main Street, Dobson, NC 27017.
