Jonesville Mr. Joshua Matthew Davis, age 22, of Swan Creek Road, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Davis was born July 31, 1984 in Surry County to Ricky Davis & Rosa C. Carter. Josh was of the Christian faith and was a student at Surry Community College and worked at Foothills Antiques. He was an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troup 654 and was a vigil member of Order of Arrow. He was a Native American Straight Dancer and was accomplished in Indian crafts. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary B. Carter; a special cousin, Adam Settle; a great uncle; Arnie Byrd. Survivors include: his father Ricky Davis and his wife Regina of Jonesville; his mother, Rosa C. Carter of Ronda; two brothers, Joseph Matthias "Matt" Davis of Ronda, John Michael Davis of Jonesville; a sister, Katelyn Rose Davis of Ronda; a half brother, Aaron James Davis of Jonesville; paternal grandparents, Cletus & Ruth Davis of Jonesville; his godmother, Barbara Mayberry of Jonesville; a special friend, Stacy Wilmoth of Hamptonville; Aunts & Uncles, Terry Carter; Garry & Dennie Carter; Wayne & Loretta Cooper; Morris & Marilyn Calhoun; Archie & Pam Poindexter. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 14, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Swan Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life Monday, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
