Joseph Forrest Pruitt

Charlotte Mr. Joseph Forrest Pruitt, age 53, of Melynda Road, Charlotte, NC passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Mr. Pruitt was born July 9, 1954 in Surry County to Forrest Dick & Peggy Kennedy Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt was a member of Chapman Memorial Baptist. Joseph attended West Mecklenburg High School, Charlotte, NC. He served in the Armed Forces in Fulda, Germany for 3 years. He was employed by Morgan Lucus Racing of NHRA Drag Racing. He had a great love of Drag Racing and worked with Bobby Baucom Racing for many years. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Willie and Anna Kennedy. Survivors include: his son, Jason Forrest Pruitt of Boone; his father and mother, Dick & Peggy K. Pruitt of Glade Valley; a caring companion of 15 years, Lisa Williams of Charlotte; two lifelong friends, Bobby Baucom and Steve Garcia. Joe and Steve were known as Cheech & Chong and where great pranksters. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Phil Edwards.
