Darel Stacy Wiles

Elkin, Mr. Darel Stacy Wiles, age 62, of Pleasant Hill Drive, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Wiles was born September 10, 1946 in Surry County to Stacy & Beulah Couch Wiles. Mr. Wiles was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He retired from Piedmont Airlines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Wiles; a brother, Melvin Wiles. Survivors include: two daughters, Michele Wiles of Elkin, Tammy Carter and husband Nickey of Ronda; a brother, Wendell Wiles of Elkin; six grandchildren, Stacie Denise Wood, Courtney Leann Wood, William Chase Wood, Nickey Brian Carter, Joshua Dwayne Carter and Jade Nicole Carter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Danny Dodds and Rev. Brian Wiles. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Wiles will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
