Betty Colleen Lambert, age 62 of Jonesville, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Betty was born September 20, 1948 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to Vincenzo and Helen Maher Vespia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Vespia, Vincent Vespia, and Michael Vespia. Survivors include her son David Thomas Thomas Lambert, Jr. and his wife Gina of Jonesville; daughter, Lynnette Colleen Lambert Barley and her husband Jeff of Pilot Mountain; brothers, Chris Vespia and Thomas Vespia; sisters, Jo Ann Lankford and her husband Bobby of Linwood and Marilyn McAbee of Lexington; grandchildren, Ariel Maria Brafford, Kaitlin Lambert, Kaleigh Steelman, Sarah Lambert, William Lambert, Cheyenne Cook, and Laken Steelman, and one great grandchild Avery Brafford. A memorial service will be conducted Friday, June 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Elkin Funeral Service chapel with Rev. Stewart Roten officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The family request that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 4A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407 or to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to thank Gil Ripley and the family and staff of Bridge Street Pharmacy, Dr. Deborah Gering of Elkin Veterinary Hospital and the community and staff of Briarwood apartments in Jonesville for their help, generosity, friendship and support. The family would also like to thank Dr. Golaszewski and the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their care.
