Jonesville Mrs. Helen Wall Dudley, age 83, of Williams Street passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Dudley was born March 23, 1925 in Surry County to Edward Thurmond & Sallie Carlton Wall. Mrs. Dudley retired from Jonesville Elementary School and was a member of Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church where she devoted 70 years of her life in service by playing the piano and organ for her church and taught hand bell choir. Mrs. Dudley also taught the Youth Sunday School Class and worked with the youth training. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dudley; a nephew Roderick Harris and a brother-in-law, Mon C. Harris. Survivors include: a son, Darryl Dudley and wife Naomi of Jonesville; a sister, Mildred Wall Harris; a brother-in-law, Odell Dudley of Winston-Salem; two nieces, Patricia L. Harris and Jayne C. Harris; two nephews, Lynn Harris and wife Sherry, John Harris and wife Denise; an aunt, Mardell Moorefield of Greensboro. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Kenny Gunn, Rev. J.P. Sizemore and Rev. Trent Wall. Burial will follow in Sunrise Cemetery. Mrs. Dudley will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
