Kernersville Mr. Thomas Lee Golden, age 89, of Hopkins Road, Kernersville, formerly of Elkin, passed away Monday, October 30, 2006 at Forsyth Memorial. Mr. Golden was born November 27, 1916 in Surry County to Thomas Henderson & Anice V. Johnson Golden. Mr. Golden was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Chatham Manufacturing. He was a member of Elkin First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Ruth Golden; two brothers, Bill Golden and Bob Golden. Survivors include: a son, Tommy D. Golden and wife Kathy of Charlotte; a daughter, Diane G. Byers and husband Wayne of Kernersville; a brother, Howard Golden and wife Lucille of Elkin; a sister, Mary Ruth Watson and husband Haywood of Pfafftown; five grandchildren, Jesse Byers, Mitchell Byers, Jessica Golden, Sarah Golden, Vince Golden and wife DeAnn; three great grandchildren, Devin Golden, Darian Golden and Peyton Golden. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 3, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Bill Johnson. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
