Mozelle Atkins Francis

April 6, 1911 — January 18, 2005

Rural Hall Mrs. Mozelle Atkins Francis, age 93, of Mizpah Church Road, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Francis was born April 6, 1911 in Forsyth County to John Quincy & Lou Von Donie Gambill Atkins. Mrs. Francis was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a member of Little Elkin Baptist Church and the Lucy Haynes Chatham Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Henry Francis; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Ralph Byrd. Survivors include: a son, Billy O'Neil Francis and wife Bonnie of Rural Hall; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 21, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Gwyn Anderson. Burial will follow at Charity United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service from 1:30-2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Charity United Methodist Church c/o Turner Transou, 548 N. Lomax Road, Roaring River, NC 28669.
