Roaring River Mr. Dickie Dean Adams, age 63, of Greenhorn Road, passed away Monday, April 7, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Adams was born August 23, 1944 in Wilkes County to James Quincey & Eddie Estelle Billings Adams. Mr. Adams was retired from Ithaca Industries and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served during the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Adams and Jack Adams. Survivors include: his wife, Brenda K. Sidden Adams of the home; a daughter, Melissa K. Ayers and husband Thomas D. of Statesville; four sisters, Janie Pegram and husband Edward, Ruth Wright and husband Rayvon all of Asheboro, Annie Sue Edwards and husband Dennis of Elkin; Betty King of State Road; a granddaughter, Emily Madison Ayers. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Gardens by Rev. Stewart Roten and Rev. Mike Hall. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Adams family.
