Hannah R. Lea

Elkin Mrs. Hannah R. Lea, age 86, of North Bridge Street, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Halifax Regional Medcial Center in Roanoke Rapides. Mrs. Lea was born July 29, 1918 in Yadkin County to William Franklin & Bessie White Reece. Mrs. Lea was of the Baptist faith and was retired from North Carolina Baptist Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Franklin Reece, Jr. Survivors include: a daughter, Judith Harris of Roanoke Rapides; a sister, Kathleen R. Wade of Baton Rouge, La.; one grandchild, Braxton Lea Harris; two great grandchildren, Summer Marie Harris, William Edward Harris. A Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to an animal shelter or the humane society of the donor's choice. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Lea family.
