Mr. Billy Allen Pritchard, 73 of Elkin, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010. Mr. Pritchard was born September 3, 1936 in Avery County to Granville and Flossie Davis Pritchard. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pritchard was preceded in death by a daughter, Gina Pritchard; a grand daughter, Taylor Leming; a great grandson, David Gillespie; and three brothers, Earl Pritchard, Lacey Pritchard, and Granville Pritchard. Survivors include his wife, Lois Cook Pritchard; three sons, Robert Pritchard, David Pritchard, and Allen Pritchard; four daughters, Cathy Reece and husband Larry, Sheri Norman and husband David, Donna Poe, and Shelly Pritchard; one brother, Eugene Pritchard and wife Wilma; two sisters, Coralie Hayes and Susan Owens and husband Bailey; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Wade Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service.
