Virginia Hyler Lyon

Elkin Mrs. Virginia Hyler Lyon of Evergreens Senior Healthcare Systems, High Point passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008. Ms. Lyon was born in Martinsville, Virginia April 25, 1919, a daughter of Daniel Agustus Hyler and Ada Herndon Hyler. She had been a resident of Elkin for 68 years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was active in church work most of her life. She moved to High Point in 2003. She was married to John Edward Lyon who preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Anice Lyon Beam and a granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Beam Hill; five brothers, three sisters. Survivors include: two daughters, Nancy Lyon Crabb and husband Buster of High Point, Patricia Lyon Ray and husband Woody of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; ten grandchildren, Lynne Crabb, Charles Crabb, Elizabeth Crabb, Cheryl Ray Haire, Janith Ray Suddath, Allen Ray and Leigh Ann Beam; nine great grandchildren, Blake Crabb, Emily, Michael and Kahterine Harie, Samuel, Luke, Gracie and Caroline Suddath and Zackary Ray; a son-in-law, Jim Beam of Statesville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Hank Campbell and Rev. Eric Peacock. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
