Elkin Stacy Wiles, age 84, of Charles Street, passed away, Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Wiles was born June 3, 1922 in Wilkes County to William Cortez & Lura Pruitt Wiles. Mr. Wiles was retried from Chatham Manufacturing and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Couch Wiles; a son, Melvin Wiles, two brothers, L.D. Wiles and Billy Wiles; a half sister, Lucille Smith; a grandson, Mark Wiles. Survivors include: two sons, Darel Wiles, Wendell Wiles and wife Judy all of Elkin; four brothers, Bryce Wiles, E.R. Wiles, Ronnie Wiles, Dexter Wiles all of Traphill; five sisters, Joci Crouse and Mildred Billings both of Traphill, Velno Johnson of Elkin, Reba Durham of Wilkesboro, Vivian Durham of Roaring River; a half sister, Nellie Ford of Jonesville; two grandchildren, Michelle Wood and Tammy Carter; six great grandchildren, Denise Wood, Courtney Wood, Chase Wood, Brian Carter, Josh Carter and Jade Carter; a special friend, Doris Blackburn of Elkin. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Danny Dodds and Rev. E.R. Wiles. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Wiles will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
