Elkin Mr. Donald Lee Miller, age 78, of Austin Traphill Road, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Miller was born January 19, 1930 in Surry County to Walter J. & Helen Burcham Miller. Mr. Miller was a paint contractor and was a member of Grassy Creek United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Choir and the Methodist Men's Club. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James W. "Jim" Miller. Survivors include his wife, Emelene Yarboro Miller of the home; three daughters, Cynthia Caudle and husband Roger of Hays, Donna Collins and husband Steve of Jonesville, Gail Miller of Germanton; a brother, Dan Miller and wife, Peggy of Mountain Park; two sisters, ReElla Ball and husband Vernon of State Road; Mary Lou Sidden and husband Fred of Dobson; a sister-in-law, Lois Miller of Boonville; three very special grandchildren, Donald Collins, Alissa Caudle, Drew Caudle; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church by Rev. Jim Prichard and Rev. Vernon Ball. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Miller will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Grassy Creek United Methodist Cemetery Fund or to the Building Fund.
