Mr. Ronald Gillis Lindsey, age 55, of Poplar Springs Road, departed his life on June 28, 2006 at Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Lindsey was born January 15, 1951 to Gillis & Marcellene Blackburn Lindsey.

Ronald grew up in the Jonesville Community and attended the Yadkin County Schools System, he was one of the first graduates of the new formed Starmount High School in 1969. At an early age, he joined the church and continued to be faithful to God and his church, serving on the Deacon Board and helping his church family in leadership and service at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Jonesville. After graduating from high school, he attended Forsyth Technical Institute earning a degree in Horticulture. In 1971, he met and married the love of his life, Regenia Martin of Ronda. From his union of 35 years were born three children; Kevin Brent Lindsey, which preceded him in death on August 29, 1979; another son, Kristopher Blackburn Lindsey of Greensboro; a daughter, Katherine Suzanne Lindsey of Charlotte. In 1973 Ronald went to work for the Surry Yadkin Electric Membership Corporation where he was employed until his death. He was always willing to help and give of himself to his Church and his fellowman.

In addition to his wife Regenia and two children, Kristopher and Katherine and his parents, Gillis & Marcellene, he is survived by a sister, Shelia Renee Massenburg of Elkin; a brother, Rex Gregory Lindsey of Boone and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 2, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Jonesville, NC by Rev. Montreal Howell, Rev. Gene Martin and Rev. Calvin Bryant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
