Mr. Alvin Thomas Parks, age 72, of Reynolda Road, Pfafftown, passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Center, Winston-Salem. Mr. Parks was born May 21, 1935 in Surry County to Merlin and Rachel Valley Belle Sturdivant Parks. Mr. Parks was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church . He was a retired painter and worked for Herring Decorating. Mr. Parks was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: Two sons and their wives, Chris and Vicki Parks of Pittsboro, NC and Danny and Glenda Parks of King, NC; two sisters, Nancy Bauguess of Elkin and Nellie Groce of Jonesville, three grandchildren: Michael Parks, Eric Parks and Stephen Parks. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Eddie Day. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Hospice of the donor's choice.
