Mrs. Nell Josephine Wall Mounce, of Baker Road, passed away Friday, February 03, 2006 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Mounce was born August 31, 1916 in Surry County to A.C. & Alice Ray Wall.

Mrs. Mounce was a homemaker and a member of Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kearney G. Mounce; four brothers, Ray Wall, Bill Wall, George Wall and Alex Wall; a sister, Viola Martin.

Survivors include: a son, Wade Mounce and wife Frances of Elkin; two daughters, Brenda White and husband Tim of Elkin, Raydell Newman and husband Bobby of State Road; a brother, Jack Wall and wife Edna of Rural Hall; three sisters, Lois Walters and husband Jimmy of Clemmons, Estelle Whitaker of Elkin, Kate Martin of Elkin; five grandchildren, Greg White and Brian White both of Elkin, Darron Newman of New Orleans, La, David Mounce of Elkin, Jonathan Mounce of Perry, Ga.; three great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 5, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Souther and Rev. Ralph Grose. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church.
