Elkin, Mr. Leland C. Lovell, age 88 of Johnson Ridge road, passed away Friday May 16, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Lovell was born June 3, 1919 in Youngstown, Ohio, to Edna Schillinger Lovell. Mr. Lovell retired from General Motors Co. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Lovell, and a daughter, Donna Lovell. Survivors include, one son Dennis Lovell and wife Jan, of Elkin, and three step-grandchildren, Bethany Carter, James Carter, and Ashley Carter. Funeral services will be held, Sunday May 18, 2008, at 6:00 pm at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dwayne Stone. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held Tuesday May 20, 2008 at 2 pm at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio.
