Boonville Mrs. Clara Louise Hemric Armstrong, much loved mother, grandmother and sister, age 91 of Rockhouse Mountain Road, went to be with the Lord and loved ones Wednesday, May 25, 2005. Mrs. Armstrong was born June 1, 1913 in Yadkin County to Weldon Hiram & Minnie Louida Chappell Hemric. Mrs. Armstrong was a member of Swaims Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Armstrong; a daughter, Peggy Louise Harris; a granddaughter, Judy Underwood Honeycutt, a grandson, John Mark Harris. Survivors include: a daughter, Linda Underwood Burchette of Boonville; a sister, Mabel Grey Freitag and husband Charles; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hemric all of Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren, Jackie Spivey and husband William, Billy Harris, Jr. and wife Melissa; Clara Harris Priester and husband Jimmy; nine great grandchildren, Melanie Atkinson and husband Dustin, Carlton Sanders, Kimberly Fenn and husband Leo, Suzanne Moose and husband John, Renee Anthony, Melissa Newman and husband Bradley, Samantha Priester, Tatjana Spivey, Adriana Pendergrass; eleven great great-grandchildren, Danielle Atkinson, Darla Atkinson, Devin Atkinson, Zoe Fenn, Eric Moose, Ashley Caudill, Austin Newman, Bryant McDonald, Ryan McDonald, Katlyn Pendergrass, Ayden Pendergrass; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 27, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Swaims Baptist Church by Rev. Craig Wahlie and Rev. John Attaway. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
