Ronda Mrs. Dorothy Virginia Smith, age 78 of Clingman Road, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Smith was born March 22, 1930 in Wilkes County to Clyde C. & Ethyl Barnette Dimmette. Mrs. Smith was owner of Smith Tire in Jonesville and attended Ronda First Baptist Church. She was a past member of Ronda Home Economics Club and volunteered for Weight Watchers Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Colon Parks Money; her second husband, Robert Lee Smith; a sister, Nettie Dimmette; a brother, Charlie Dimmette. Survivors include: two sons, Ricky Parks Money and Robert Dale Smith both of Ronda; two brothers, Bobby Dimmette and wife Margaret, Fred Dimmette and wife Eloise all of Ronda; a sister, Barbara Cockerham and husband Joe of High Point; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Ronda First Baptist Church by David Householder and Rev. Marty Nixon. Burial will follow at Little Elkin Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Smith will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
