Boonville Judy Glenda Underwood Honeycutt, much loved daughter, granddaughter, sister and mother, age 58, of Rockhouse Mountain Road, went to be with the Lord and her loved ones on Wednesday, June 16, 2004. Mrs. Honeycutt was born October 14, 1945 in Surry County to Hugh Glenn & Linda Southard Underwood. Judy retired as a Plant Manager with Perdue Farms of Elkin after 20 years of service and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She was a loving and giving person, always hardworking and putting the needs of others before her own. Judy was preceded in death by her stepfather, Thurmond Burchette; and her grandfather, John Armstrong. Survivors include: a son, Carlton Craig Sanders of State Road; three daughters, Melanie Atkinson and husband Dustin of Boonville, Kimberly Fenn and husband Leo of Yadkinville, Suzanne Moose and husband John of Jonesville; her mother, Linda Underwood Burchette of Boonville, maternal grandmother, Clara Armstrong of Boonville; one sister, Jacki Spivey and husband William of Boonville; five grandchildren, Devin Atkinson, Danielle Atkinson, Darla Atkinson, Eric Moose, Zoe Fenn; one niece, Renee Anthony; a great niece, Ashley Caudill; a special cousin and his wife, Billy and Melissa Harris of Jonesville. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church by Rev. John Attaway and Rev. Craig Wahlie. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of Surry/Yadkin Counties, 1326 North Main Street, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Honeycutt family.
