Elkin Mrs. Lorraine T. Tabor, age 85, of Johnson Ridge Road passed away Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Tabor was born in Wilkes County to Freeland & Bretta Poplin Tharpe. Mrs. Tabor was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, and a graduate of Ronda High School, and Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Livingston Tabor, and a brother; Loton Tharpe. Survivors include: a son, Cameron K. Tabor and wife Deborah of Chesapeake, Va., two daughters; Susan Hinson and husband Mack of State Road, Cynthia T. Knight, and husband Sam of Bahama, N.C., four brothers; David Tharpe, and wife Annie Lee, of Ronda, Sam Tharpe, and wife Betty of Airville, Pa. S.D. Tharpe and wife Edna of North Wilkesboro, Felix Tharpe, and wife Betty of Dobson; four sisters; Margaret Poplin of Ronda, Nancy Guiton of Jamestown, N.C., Bretta Mae Hayes and husband Grant of Wilkesboro, Helen Porter of Ronda; seven grandchildren; Cameron Tabor II and wife Jenny, Kerri Tabor, Ivey Tabor, Brett Hinson and wife Rachael, Matt Hinson, Tiffany Knight, Patricia Knight; one great grandchild; Amy Hinson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church by Rev. Joel Blevins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Tabor will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service.
