Julia Elizabeth Norman

Thurmond Mrs. Julia Elizabeth Parks Norman, age 55, of Thurmond Road, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2005 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Norman was born December 16, 1949 in Iredell County to Julius Eugene & Ruby Pruitt Parks. Mrs. Norman was a member of Roaring River Methodist Church and attended Mining Ridge Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher from Jonesville Elementary School after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include: her husband, Roger Dale Norman of the home; two sons, Roger Dale Norman, II, Ryan Drew Norman, both of the home; her mother, Ruby Parks Pruitt of North Wilkesboro; a brother, Julius Parks and wife Ginger of Roaring River; a sister, Barbara Sparks and husband Jack of Kernersville; a grandson, Jared Caleb Wood. A graveside service was held Saturday, August 06, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Roaring River Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Bell and Pastor Terry Morris officiating. The family received friends Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
