Celester Holleman

March 6, 1906 — December 6, 2006

Jonesville Mrs. Celester "Leck" Prevette Holleman, age 100, of Hwy. 67, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Brian Center in Charlotte. Mrs. Holleman was born March 6, 1906 in Wilkes County to John L. & Mary Glass Prevette. Mrs. Holleman was a homemaker and a member of Island Ford Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Burris Holleman; five brothers, Russell, Clyde, Worth, Roy and Albert Prevette; two sisters, Omie Bullard and Reece Minton; a son, Charles Ader Holleman. Survivors include: a daughter, Mary Lou Holleman Johnson of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Reggie Holleman and wife Rebecca, Chris Holleman and wife Jamie, Ronnie Johnson and wife Sue; four great grandchildren, Johnnie Lee Johnson and wife Kim, Daniel Johnson, Charlie Holleman and Kelly Holleman; several great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Island Ford Baptist Church by Mr. Joebill Miles, Preacher Conard Hatfield and Mrs. Mary Ellen Burgess. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Holleman will lie instate one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
