Mount Airy Mr. Michael William Holyfield, age 34, of Oakridge Circle, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at Northern Hospital. Mr. Holyfield was born February 18, 1975 in Surry County to Nathan Holyfield & Bessie Key McCormick. Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James & Rosie Key; and paternal grandparents, Willie & Thelma Holyfield. Survivors include: his wife, Leigh Ann Hayden Holyfield; a son, Israel Holyfield; a daughter, Trinity Holyfield; a step daughter Camille Hayden all of the home; his father, Nathan Holyfield; his mother, Bessie Key McCormick of Dobson; two brothers, Claude James McCormick and Michael Harrell both of Dobson; four sisters, Amy Danley of Mt. Airy, Jamie Nelson of N. Wilkesboro, Ginger Guy and April Holyfield both of Dobson. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Wesley Nelson and Bro. Michael Harrell. Burial will follow at New Beginnings Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
