Thurmond Mr. Wade Harold Lewis, age 56, of H.G. Lewis Road, passed away, Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lewis was born August 29, 1948 in Surry County to Harold Ray & Rosalie Mattice Lewis. Wade was a carpenter by trade and was an honest man with a heart of gold. He enjoyed life and helped his neighbors whenever he was needed. His talents were immense and his wisdom exceeded his years. Those whose lives he touched will always carry his memory. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include: his wife, Alison Hall Lewis of the home; his mother, Rosalie Mattice Lewis of Thurmond; a sister, Rev. Debbie Lewis Fox and husband Jim of Winston-Salem; a mother-in-law, Dorothy Hall of Hendersonville; two sisters-in-law, Marbury Stegall and her husband Hance of Atlanta, GA, Tracy Chandler and her husband John of Charlotte; three nieces, Alexandra Fox, Victoria Fox and Courtney Chandler; a nephew, Eldon Stegall; special friends, Charles McKinney of Raleigh and the crew at Devotion. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 26, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mickey Brooks.
