Milford Billings

State Road, Mrs. Milford Jean "Butch" Garris Billings, age 73, of Old Hwy 21, passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born April 22, 1935, in Alleghany County, to Guilford Erastus, and Mary Ann Benge Garris. Mrs. Billings was retired from Chatham Mfg. after 35 years of service, and was a member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: Her husband, Arvil Harvey "Bud" Billings of the home, three sons, Harvey Dale Billings, and wife Phyllis, and Stony Darrell Billings, of State Road., Kevin Daniel Billings, also of State Road, and his girlfriend Cheryl Haynes of Low Gap. Five brothers, Dexter Garris of Tignall Ga.; Bobby Garris and wife Dale of Hays; Jerry Garris and wife Wanda, of Belmont N.C.; Don Garris of Wilkesboro; and Roger Garris and wife Carolyn, of Roaring River; Two sisters, Helen Church and Joyce Hayes and husband Raymond, all of N. Wilkesboro; three grandchildren, Kathy Jean Billings, James Daniel Billings, and Maranda Ann Billings, all of St. Road. Funeral services for Mrs. Billings will be held Tuesday Oct 28, at 2:00 pm at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel, by Rev. E.R. Wiles. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 27, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hodges Funeral Home.
